We analyzed the functions of media and looked at the question: How do the media influence the political process?

Problems:

(1) a profit-seeking business, 

(2) objectivity vs. selectivity and personal backgrounds of journalists, 

(3) brevity in reporting, and 

(4) stress on drama, action, violence, and personalities.
