Requirements
- Reading and thinking about the assigned materials so you are able to participate in class
- Reading of an English-language newspaper or magazine on a regular basis (e.g. Guardian, New York Times, Spiegel Online International)
Grading
Final grades will be based on homework assignments, participation in class and the two exams. The relative weights of these will be 50% for the homework and the participation in class, and 50% for the exams. One of the exams can be replaced by a presentation.
Exams
"In der schriftlichen Abiturprüfung in den bilingualen Sachfächern ist der Inhalt entscheidend für die Bewertung. Einerseits wird positiv bewertet, wenn der Prüfling entsprechendes fachspezifisches Vokabular verwendet und er gute kommunikative Fähigkeiten nachweist. Andererseits können gravierende Verstöße gegen die morphosyntaktischen und lexikalischen Normen dann zum Abzug von maximal zwei Punkten von der Gesamtnote führen, wenn die Kommunikation in hohem Maße behindert ist."
